Hiszem, hogy az Úrnak van válasza nekünk ma is, a „kérdések korában”. Hiszem, hogy az ő ereje ma is ugyanakkora hatalommal bír, mint korábban bármikor. Hiszem, hogy ő most is ugyanaz a „mindig aktuális Isten”, aki folyamatos jelenben él. A mi múltunk és a jövőnk is az Úr jelene.

Úgy vélem, a ma válaszai nem lehetnek ugyanazok, mint korábban. A kérdések megváltoztak, minden generációnak saját kérdéseire kell választ kapnia. Nem tehetjük, hogy beérjük az elmúlt korok válaszaival. Hiszem ugyanakkor, hogy ugyanazzal a vágyakozással kell keresnünk a válaszainkat, ahogyan elődeink tették.

Aztán, ha megkaptuk, az útmutatás marad a régi: „Az a próféta, aki álmot látott, mondja meg, hogy csak álom volt. De aki igét kapott, hirdesse igémet igazán! Mi köze a szalmának a tiszta búzához? – így szól az Úr. Nem olyan-e az én igém, mint a tűz – így szól az Úr –, vagy mint a sziklazúzó pöröly?” (Jer 23,28-29)

Van-e helye Isten egyházában azoknak, akik félvállról veszik őt? Az egyházat, a lelkészt, a gyülekezet tagjait lehet félvállról venni, de Istent és igéjét nem. Mert az egyház hibát hibára halmoz, a lelkészek elbuknak, kiégnek, megfáradnak, a gyülekezet tagjai megunják a megszokott életüket, eltévednek, máshol keresnek kiutat.

Az Ige azonban nem fárad meg, nem veszti erejét. Az Ige élő és ható, ma is. Én ebben hiszek. A Úrban, aki most is készen vár bennünket. Kérdéseinket nem válaszolja meg helyettünk, de útmutatásával segít a keresésben. Ő sosem adja egészen önmagát, mert talán el sem bírnánk viselni. Persze már nem is kell neki magát adnia, mert a kereszten mindent odaadott már. Minket akar felhasználni, hiszen küldetést bízott ránk.
